Bloor Homes backs Hanslope community campaign

The Hanslope Christmas Window campaign has successfully raised more than £500 in support of the restoration of the bells at St James the Great church in Hanslope.

Running throughout December, a house or business within the village unveiled a festive or winter themed window design every day, with maps sold to residents to reveal the location of each Christmas window creation.

Supported by businesses across the local community, including GutterPro, Shampoodle, Tompkins Butchers, Blue Marlin, The Watts Arms, The Cock, The Working Man’s Club, Hanslope News and local housing developer Bloor Homes, the campaign raised a fantastic £512 towards to cause.

Anna Everington, who organised the event with the help of local residents Bryony Barry, Samantha Wood, Helen Pakes and Diane Gordon commented: “This was a thoroughly enjoyable event for all involved and I am very grateful to all of the businesses and individuals who got behind our fund-raising efforts.

“The Bell restoration project requires more than £80,000 and while there is still £30,000 to find, events like this have really helped to kick start work on this important community landmark.”

Vanessa Macnee, sales director for Bloor Homes South Midlands adds: “At Bloor Homes we are committed to building much more than high quality homes; we want to help support the communities where we build.

“As we are set to launch our new Hanslope development at the end of February we were delighted to have the opportunity to support such a popular community event in aid of a fantastic local cause.”

Bloor Homes’ 150 home development, located on Castlethorpe Road will open its showhomes on Saturday 23rd February.
